Qualitative vs Quantitative
Qualitative and quantitative are the two broad kinds of data and research. They answer different questions, and strong work often uses them together.

- Qualitative data is non-numeric and describes qualities and meaning; quantitative data is numeric and measures amounts. One explores "why," the other measures "how much."
- Which is more reliable?
- Neither is inherently more reliable — they suit different questions. Quantitative data supports statistical comparison; qualitative data captures nuance a number would miss. Reliability comes from good method, not the type.
- Can you use both together?
