Which openings help the listener?
Order is not neutral. The order you discovered something is rarely the order to explain it.
Most important facts first, detail in descending order. Driven by telegraph lines that failed mid-transmission and editors who cut from the bottom.
The reader benefit was larger: whenever they stop, they have the most important thing. Assume your audience may stop at any point.
Common misconception
Good structure transfers thinking; it cannot create it. A beautifully organised empty argument is still empty.
